Dr. Peterson is a graduate of the prestigious Boston University School of Dentistry, where he earned his Doctor of Dental Medicine degree. He completed his undergraduate studies at Brigham Young University, earning a Bachelor of Science.
A Boise native, Dr. Peterson returned to the Treasure Valley to build a practice centered on his greatest passion: straightening teeth. He has completed over 300 Invisalign and braces cases, and his clinical results are something he puts up against any specialist in the region.
Each year he continues to attend post-doctoral studies in advanced dentistry, so whether you need complex treatment or a routine cleaning, your care is delivered with the same precision. Best of all, Dr. Peterson takes the time to get to know every patient one on one, because your needs and concerns set the agenda.
Outside the office, Dr. Peterson is a devoted husband to Sara, a surgical intensive care nurse at a local hospital, and the proud father of four children he loves taking on adventures. When he is not at the practice, you can find him skiing, playing tennis, or running.

Peterson Family Dentistry combines advanced dentistry with a gentle, friendly style that makes patients more comfortable than they expected to be. That is the whole premise. Some people arrive having avoided the dentist for years, and the first job is making the visit something they are willing to repeat.
The practice is built around a full range of care. Preventive exams and cleanings, fillings, crowns, implants, dentures, whitening, and veneers all happen here, alongside the braces and Invisalign treatment that Dr. Peterson considers his life’s work. A patient can move from a cleaning to Invisalign to a restored back tooth in the same office.
Time is the other piece. Dr. Peterson takes the time to get to know every patient one on one, and the team commits a generous amount of time to planning treatment so problems are caught while they are still small. Your needs and concerns set the agenda.
